Where to start? I love this costume. Even more fun then my Risa one. I love wearing a cape ^_^
Basicaly bought the fabric cheap at Walmart again. I used fuzzy plush fabric for the brown top
of the cape. Bought the shirt real cheap at a discount store cause it had a stain, but I managed
to get it out (ah, the miricles of Oxy-Clean). The shirt was perfect cause it already had the slits
in the sleeves. They just had bows on them that mom cut off and all was good.
The blue strings on the cape is real leather. It's very nice. I made the star
barrett out of fun-foam so it was nice and light. Mom helped me alot again. I need to work harder at
learning to sew.
I used spay-on hair color for my blue hair.
Next time I need differnt hair, I'll use a wig ^_^;;; I thought the spary would be more natural
but it was just weird. I wears off if you wear it too long. Okay now some about the the con...
It was a long drive to the con so we (me and mom) stopped at rest stop. All cosplayers should
have to stop at at rest stop in costume, so they know what it's like. I hate being noticed so imagagine me in the outfit in public.
Ugh. Anyway, probably because it was a larger con then Shoujo Con alot of people recognized my
costume and took my picture. As soon as I walked in the door Saturday agirl had to have her
picture taken with me. In fact one time a girl came up to me, told me how much she loved Star
Ocean and gave me a big hug ^_^;;; I guess that meant I had a good costume ^_^;
It was very airconditioned in the hotel so I was okay in my long sleeves and cape, but my
bare legs were quite cold. It was a weird feeling. It was very windy weekend so when I went out
side I had alot of fun with my cape. All the people on line outside (I could never figure out
what the line was for. I'd say registration, but it was far away from the reg both) were staring
at me cause I was like "Whee! I'm flying! I love capes!".
Overall, great con experience.
