Gouhou Drug (aka: Legal Drug, Lawful Drug) by Clamp
Downloaded from- I got GD from a few different places:
Age rating- PG-13, though I'm tempted to say R (shonen-ai, language, suggestive dialouge, suggestive situations)
Genre- shonen-ai, mystery, supernatural
Volumes- 3, may possibly be continued
Overall- 4/5
Note- Keep in mind Drug is licenced in English by Tokyopop. I suggest you only download it to get a taste of whether you'll like it or not, then buy the manga.
(Forgive any incoherency. I’m listing to my anime MP3s (Cloud Age Symphony is the best song ever!) rather loudly and I think it’s melting my brain)
I have to be careful writting this or it could turn into a giant rant about how wonderful/great/godly Clamp is. Drug is one of Clamp's most little known works. It seems like alot of Clamp's best works never become anime like Wish and Clover (Miyuki-chan did NOT need an anime 0_o) I really want GD to be an anime >_< See? I did start a bit of a rant. Let's get to the important stuff .
I think the best way I've heard GD described is in the Hanami Gumi review when they say something along the lines of 'It's like Chobits for girls'. That is the perfect way to explain it! It’s like all fanservice-y, bur for girls.
Kazahaya is wandering in a city one snowy Christmas when he collaspes (ah, poor guy). Every one walks past him and ignores him. Until a tall, dark haired boy about his own age picks him up and carries him home. Fastforward a bit and now Kazahaya is living in the apartment above Green Drug drugstore, the place where he now works. He is also now room mates with Rikuo, the guy who saved him. Their boss at Green Drug, Kakei sends them on all sorts of supernatural missions because Rikuo and Kazhaya are psychics. Kazahaya can see peoples pasts and such by touching them or something they’ve touched (Arou in Mekakushi no Kuni and Tatsuki in Sono Te wo Dokero have the same power. Popular power, huh?) and Rikuo can break stuff with his mind.
So really, so far it’s all just different missions the boys go on. We do get to see glimpses of their pasts along the way. Unfortunatly, it seems to have stopped at three volumes with no ending. Clover, anyone? But it’s worse than Clover. Clover was somewhat satisfying, but Drug just stops dead. I really hope Clamp finishes it. I’m dying to find out about why Kazahaya ran away from home and just who is this woman Kazahaya keeps seeing in Rikuo’s memories? Well, it’s a great series as expected by Clamp. Oh, did I mention there’re cameos by Hina and Asou from Suki Dakara Suki?
As of updating this, Remedy seems to have realeased many more chapters. Their translation is nice and I don't have any problems with it ^_^
